LLYP Studios wins small business grant
LLYP Studios celebrates a milestone—earning a $2,500 grand prize during the KPIXAI 30-Day Growth Challenge powered by Wells Fargo

Sometimes the investment starts with believing in your own idea.

July brought a pretty exciting milestone for LLYP Studios: we won our first small business grant.

But technically, we didn't win just one.

During the KPIXAI 30-Day Growth Challenge through Start.Pivot.Grow., we first won a $500 grant award during the challenge. Then, after completing the program and submitting our final pitch, LLYP Studios was selected as the $2,500 grand prize winner.

That's $3,000 total in grant funding toward the next chapter of our business.

And while I'm incredibly grateful for the funding, what makes this moment meaningful to me isn't just the money. It's what we're going to do with it.

From Growth Strategy to Growth Investment using our First Small Business Grant

The KPIXAI 30-Day Growth Challenge was designed to help business owners get clearer about their goals, marketing strategy, ideal customer, financial projections, KPIs, and overall growth readiness. The program culminated in a competition for grant awards, with the grand prize going to the participant with the strongest completed growth strategy and readiness report.

For LLYP Studios, the experience challenged me to get even more intentional about where we're going next.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was clarity around marketing strategy and segmentation — specifically, how to sharpen our messaging and create a clearer path for the right organizations to find and engage with LLYP Studios.

And that clarity helped reinforce something I've already believed: The next phase of LLYP Studios requires more than great creative work. It requires great systems.

So, What Are We Doing With the $3,000 Small Business Grant?

We're investing it back into the business! Specifically, into the infrastructure that will help us make brand strategy and communications solutions more accessible, measurable, and scalable.

1. Building Our Brand Health Score

One of the biggest pieces of this next chapter is our LLYP Studios Brand Health Score.

We believe organizations shouldn't have to guess whether their brand is working.

Before investing thousands of dollars into a rebrand, website, messaging, marketing campaign, or communications strategy, leaders should have a clearer understanding of where their brand stands today.

Is the brand aligned with the organization's purpose?

Is the messaging clear?

Does the visual identity communicate the right things?

Is the brand experience consistent?

And perhaps most importantly:

Is the brand helping the organization move toward its goals?

That's the thinking behind our Brand Health Score.

And now, we're building the systems around it to make it a meaningful entry point into the LLYP Studios experience.

2. Building a Smarter Lead Generation System

The second area we're investing in is something every growing business eventually has to confront: How do we consistently connect the right people with what we do?

We've reached a point where we don't want LLYP Studios' growth to depend solely on referrals, networking, or manually finding our next opportunity.

We're building a more intentional lead generation system that connects our content, brand health score assessment, website, email marketing, and services into a clearer customer journey and ecosystem of solutions.

3. Laying the Foundation for What's Next: A Tech for Good Solution

The next chapter of LLYP Studios isn't just about helping organizations build stronger brands. It's about solving a problem we've seen repeatedly through years of working with mission-driven organizations: Too often, one person becomes the keeper of the mission.

The Executive Director knows the story. The founder knows the language. The person who has been there the longest knows what the organization stands for and how everything works.

But as teams grow, that knowledge doesn't always transfer.

People aren't sure what to say. Communications become inconsistent. Staff and volunteers keep coming back to leadership for answers. And when everything routes through one person, the organization loses trust, momentum, and even funding.

That's the problem we're building Servoa™ to solve.

Servoa is an upcoming platform designed to help mission-driven organizations turn institutional knowledge into consistent communication, stronger donor trust, and lasting impact.

Built on LLYP Studios' 4P Brand Alignment System™ — Purpose, Presence, Processes, and Positioning — Servoa™ brings the pieces of organizational alignment into one connected system.

The goal isn't simply to help an organization know its brand.

It's to help the whole organization live it.

Because when the team is aligned, communication becomes consistent.

When communication is consistent, trust grows. And when trust grows, organizations are better positioned to stay visible, build donor relationships, and keep their missions funded.

That's the future we're building, and these grants are helping us take the first steps toward it.

Take it From Us: A Small Grant Can Fund a Much Bigger Vision

$3,000 isn't going to build our entire vision. And that's not the point.

Sometimes the first investment isn't supposed to finish the vision.

It's supposed to move it forward.

For LLYP Studios, these grants are helping us invest in the systems and technology that will support our next stage of growth — while staying rooted in the same philosophy we've had from the beginning:

We Brand from the Inside Out.

It's about helping organizations understand who they are, communicate that clearly, create alignment internally, and build experiences that move their mission forward.

And we're building LLYP Studios to help more organizations do exactly that.

This really is just the beginning.
